Master Classes

I don't want people who want to dance; I want people who have to dance. -George Balanchine

Master classes are for students who are looking for diversity or a different choreographer’s point of view. Our Master Classes will be taught by visiting instructors who were hand chosen by Catherine to teach. Master Class Instructors are chosen for their ability to bring a different style, perspective, and/ or experience to the students at Catherine’s Dance Studio. Master Dance Classes will be taught in:

  • Ballet
  • Jazz
  • Lyrical
  • Tap/Clogging
  • Contemporary

These instructors have been trained in these disciplines and are in a unique position to offer our dance students this exciting opportunity. Taught in either a series of classes or a longer single class, Master Classes will be designed with the participants needs in mind. Classes will vary depending on the instructors, the discipline and the students.

Master Classes will expose the participants to instructors who have”been there and done that” sharing their experiences and skills with the small class sizes indicative of classes at Catherine’s Dance Studio.

Catherine’s Dance Studio is excited to give our students as many opportunities as possible to learn different forms of dance. We are thrilled to be able to elevate their understanding of different dance techniques and practices by having our visiting instructors teach classes. We believe the Master Classes will be a way for us to do this with the students who have shown a desire, attitude and a talent to further their skill development.

To enroll in a Master Class, students need to be currently enrolled in a Dance Class(es) at Catherine’s Dance Studio or at the invitation of the instructor teaching the class. Students need to have previously expressed an interest in refining their skills and elevating their skills in dance. Attitude and aptitude will be considerations for attendance in Master Classes.

Students interested in a participating in a Master Class should speak to Catherine directly or express interest through the Class Interest form found on the Contact Us page.
